Everybody is losing their shit about Bodegas Vinedos Ponce in Manchuela. Juan Antonio Ponce is the best producer of Bobal in Spain. Once nearly extinct, this grape is coming back into focus. These are not not hefty red wines, they are light in body but very stylish and elegant. He is a protege of Telmo Rodriguez and you can see the pedigree shine through into Juan's winemaking. His white is made from Abilla and shows more power but is underpinned by fresh acidity. All have serious length and truly are incredible value considering the recent points haul from the wine press.
