Starting at the lighter, brighter end of the spectrum, El Ciclon Vinedos Serranos from Salamanca is made from the little known variety of Rufete. Casa Aurora La Nave is Mencia from Bierzo by so called Lively Wines creator Germán Blanco. Quinta Milu is the massively popular wine by the same man but from Ribera del Duero. Pirineos Principio is a tiny Bodego making miniscule amounts of wine from Moristel. This is a gloriously comforting Autumnal red with terrific fruit but also freshness. Akutain Cosecha Rioja is old school Rioja, made without intervention and a complete under the radar producer who shuns press. Finishing with the Cote de Nuits of Rioja, Olivier Riviere 'Gabaxo', a stunning wine from the Rioja 'N' Roll Collective, a maverick group of wine makers working outside the rules of the Rioja appellation.
