SPARKLING, 2 X WHITES, 2 X REDS - ALL BRIGHT SPRING DRINKING WITH POP ART VIBE LABELS
It's 60 years since Andy Warhol exhibited Pop Art for the first time, turning the art world on its head. We have a Pop Art 6er that even the man himself would approve of.
Barouillet SPLASH Pet Nat is a sparkling Semillon and only 9%, label looks like a real Pop Art piece. Folk Machine White Light (White Heat - 100% a Velvet Underground reference) is a funky Californian blend made by former beatnik, skate punk Kenny Likitaprakong. Did Warhol influence the Velvets or vice versa? Castlenau de Guers Picpoul is an old fashioned grape, made in a more exciting fashion with a sexy label.
On the reds, Fredi Torres POMAGRANA is made from the Trepat grape, the label looks like a fruit salad, classic pop art and the wine shows an isotonic quality that is almost rejuvenating; light and bright. Gonzalo Grijalba Gran Cerdo Tinto is new-wave Rioja that has an explicit FU in the form of art & explanation on the label to the bank executives that denied us loans. Castlenau de Guers Syrah is an elegant and stylish Syrah from the South of France. If Andy Warhol himself had made a wine label, it would probably look like this - house red at Studio 54. STSWine
