White Wine /// Chardonnay // Burgundy / France
Baby Meursault of the highest regard, at a fraction of the price. So Meursault like is that that I was surprised to find The vines for this cuvée are located in the villages of Puligny-Montrachet (Les Champs Perriers is the name of the lieu-dit) and Meursault (Les Magny and Sous la Velle). The oldest vines in these parcels are 60 years of age; the average is about 40. The wine is made with the same care as Bouzereau's top Premier Cru bottlings, though with less new oak used. It is still distinctively Meursault-like, it’s beautiful rich fruit underpinned by a lightning bolt of acidity to carry it through. A big bargain. STSWine
