American wine was once highly extracted, oaky and alcoholic. New-wave American is about minimal intervention and natural practices, more pure wines. one of the foremost practitioners of this new wave is Kenny Likitaprakong, a former beatnik and skater who at one stage was sleeping rough on the beaches of California (inspiring his HOBO wine range. This 3-Pack showcases Kenny's incredible journey with three of his reds.
Folk Machine Pinot Noir 2017 is an elegant and classic feeling Pinot from the North coast. Fully organic, it is hauntingly light on its feet initially but it opens up. Film and Camera Valdiguie is an intense, buzzy and energetic red made from what was thought to be Gamay, but has now been established as being Valdiguie, a similar variety. Lastly, more classically, Camp Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the grape that California is famous for, but not the style. Unlike old school Cabernets that are heavily extracted and baked, this is all shimmering purity.
This is real America. STSWine
