"WHEN PEOPLE STARTED BATHING IN IT, WE SHOULD HAVE PUT A STOP TO IT...BUT WE DIDNT...IT'S ON US"
Beaujolais has been seen as a bit of fun thanks to Beaujolais Nouveau and its wildly successful marketing campaign every November. The above quote was told to me by Chris Coquard of Maison Coquard regarding the odd practice of bathing in Bojo.
Beaujolais' reputation as a purveyor of fine wines of depth and complexity is a relatively new thing and it has escaped its frivolous reputation. 6 incredible wines here offer a glimpse at the potential of the region. Domaine La Souer Cadette Julieanas a young, juicy and pure Gamay from one of Beaujolais' most famous Cru. Some would say that Jean Foillard is the best producer in the region, Le Classique is his entry level wine, it is an awesome and complex Bojo. Du Grappin Beaujolais Village 2018 is a funky number and AMI Gaminot is even funkier! These two will evolve in the glass and are serious on-trend wines. Lastly Maupertuis Pink Bulles NV demonstrates that Gamay can do sparkling. This is a wildly popular Summer drink. We finish with Film and Camera Valdiguie - a grape misidentified as Gamay for the last 20 years in the States!
See what Gamay and Bojo are capable of of!! STSWine
