Red Wine /// Cab Sauv Cinsault, Carignan // Ghazir / Lebannon
Closer to a fine Bordeaux but it will age gratifyingly well for a very long time. And you can drink it with pleasure now: all that soft, velvety, peppery, spicy, earthy even chocolaty quality is already there in spades.
Simon Hoggar, WINE SPECTATOR, February 2007
Steeped in tradition, Chateau Musar is constantly thriving in the face of adversity. Vineyards have been damaged in war. Derided as overly alcoholic (nope, 13%) and funky or volatile (unfair, different yes). It has now become an icon wine. Built for the long haul (3 years in barrel and 4 years in bottle before release), it is made in a low intervention style and is utterly, utterly unique. Best with range of foods, company and cheese.
