6 Sangiovese Superstars
Chianti is probably the last true vestige of value for fine wine in the world. Sangiovese is the variety in question. Italy's most planted grape, it's vibrant acidity and dusty drying tannins make it an ideal food match and it sends any pasta dish to the next level. San Vito Organic Chianti is a juicy entry point from outside the Classico area. We have five different Chianti Classicos to showcase 5 different Classico villages: Rodano Chianti Classico 2016 is from Castellina, Fontodi Chianti Classico 2018 from Panzano and Rocca di Montegrossi Chianti Classico 2017 is from Gaoile. Tenuta di Carleone Chianti Classico 2017 is also from Gaoile and is made in a much more elegant style. Isole e Olena Chianti Classico is from the King of Chianti, Paolo di Marchi (also Castellina). Liver and fava beans optional.
Chianti Classico is one of the last games in town for value, terroir driven fine wine. STSWine
