From the hills of La Morra, hand picked, native yeasts, maceration for about 13 days, traditional aging with 24 months in oak barrels & the same in bottle. This is awesome classic Barolo Nebbiolo. Barolo Passione di Re Gabriele Scaglione left the world of wine marketing to return to his roots in Piedmont. He makes this wine from 2.5 acres of vines in La Morra, fermenting the fruit with ambient yeasts with a relatively short (10- to 15-day) maceration, then aging the wine for two years in Slavonian oak casks. Notes of licorice and dark spices accent its ripe cherry and plum fla - vors, and it maintains good freshness and depth through the finish. 92 POINTS, WINE & SPIRITS
