Red Wine /// Pinot Noir // Santa Rita Hills / U.S.A.
The 2016 Pinot Noir Memorious, from a 3.5-acre parcel that's typically the last to be harvested, offers up a lifted and perfumed nose of Griotte cherry, orange rind, cassis, currant leaf, raspberry and rose hip. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a rich chassis of supple tannins, lovely depth at the core, superb concentration and a long, lingering finish. A strong undercurrent of salinity always seems to distinguish this site, and that's unmistakably present in the 2016 rendition. 94 POINTS, ROBERT PARKER
The is another dense, resonant wine endowed with real pedigree and class. A rush of sweet red berry fruit, mint, savory herbs and flowers fills out the wine's frame effortlessly, with bright citrus and white pepper overtones that add life. The Memorious is perhaps not quite as vertical or complex as the other single-vineyard wines in the range, but in exchange it will drink well earlier. Here, too, the 100% whole clusters are very well integrated into the wine's fabric. 94 POINTS, ANTONIO GALLONI
