Bottle / White
Madman Fabien Jouves recently took the plunge into some whites and oranges to further piss off the regulators in France. This is a so called orange wine - a white wine made with some skin contact (not a normal process in white production). Like all of them this is organic and biodynamic, hand made without any chemicals or intervention.
So what's an orange then? Skin contact, we know - what does that do? In a nutshell it imparts a whole spectrum of aromatics and flavours that you don't find very often in whites. They also make Sommeliers weep with enthusiasm and admiration - this is because they are such good food wines (also they are cool and cutting edge!). This is a magnificent introduction, unusual but clean and balanced, this is really compulsive drinking. Solid texture imparted by the skins backed by razor-sharp acidity. STSWine
