Type: Wine
From just four hectares located in the little medieval village of Tavernelle, to the south of Montalcino at a relatively high altitude. Indeed, this village is well known to produce perfumed wines with ripe tannins and great depth. The must undergoes a cold soak and is then fermented with frequent pump-overs, punch-downs and delestages, allowing the best extraction from the skins for an ageworthy wine. After the maceration and both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, the wine is transferred to second-fill oak to age for 12 months. Over cassis, macerated roses and cherry gush smoky woodland notes. The tannins are firm with a grainy youthfulness, and the acidity super-integrated. Great savouriness completes the framework, with a cherry kernel finish. 92 POINTS, DECANTER
