2 x Whites: Bourgogne Champs Gain 2020 / St. Romain La Periere
4 x Reds: Bourgogne Rouge 2020 / Santenay Les Champs Claude 2019 / Chassagne Montrachet Mes Veilles Vignes / Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru Clos St. Jean 2016
A refernce point in quality for Chassagne. BURGHOUND
These wines seem to possess everything. JASPER MORRIS
Jean-Marc, and now increasingly his seemingly equally talented son Antonin, run one of the greatest white estates in Burgundy today. PRINCE WINE STORE
This is my favourite Burgundy estate. I have always loved their whites since i first tasted them in 2009. Over the last few years though it's the estate's reds that have been turning my head, and though JMP is known as the greatest Chardonnay progniosticator in the region, this pack is red-heavy!!
The 2 whites were rated 'Outstanding' by Burghound. Le Hauts des Champs 2020 is the entry level regional from Chassagne fruit, St. Romain La Periere 2020 is typical of St. Romain with a rocket ship of acidity but a smoky depth to it. Les Grandes Terres 2020 is his Bourg Rouge and it introduces his Pinot Noir philosophy, matching razor sharp acidity, fruit and minerality. Santenay Les Champs Claude 2019 adds more depth and length to the mix. There are 2 x 2016 wines that are utterly sublime. Chassagne-Montrachet Mes Veilles Vignes is an old vine red Chassagne Montrachet, while Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru 'Clos St Jean' is a famous wine from a walled vineyard on top of the hill, it is sprawling and complex but fresh and incisive. Its an experience, but then again, all his wines are. STSWine
