Mahi owner and wine maker David Bicknell has been making wine in Marlborough since 1989, indeed he helped plant many of the regions vineyards. Fully organic and vegan, the wines allow the vineyards to speak through the wines. Everything is done by hand, fementation with wild yeast. Stellar whites from Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay and beautiful red Pinot Noir.
The Sauvignon Blanc is super-clasic Marlborough, precise, concentrated and fresh, matching lovely minerality with some lees work. 'The Alias' is a barrel aged Sauv, which ads beautiful and serious depth and texture - more like a smoky Sancerre. 'Twin Valleys' Chardonnay is a gorgeous, complex and long Burgundian-style Chardonnay. There are 3 fantastic vintages (New Zealand nearly impervious to bad vintages!) of their iconic Marlborough Pinot Noir, mixing structure and elegance, freshness and fruit intensity.
