White Wine /// Aligote // Burgundy / France
Aligote is Burgundy's other white grape. Previously grown by the French more or less for personal consumption, it has a zestier, leaner profile than Chardonnay. Increasingly the grape is becoming en vogue and it offers better value.
Roisin's version is simply the best on the market, even beating out the version that helped bring the grape back to the fore made by Aubert de Villaine, wine maker at Domaine de la Romanee Conti. Roisin's version is razor sharp and saline. STSWine
