This famous Italian wine is called after the town of Gavi in the far south-east corner of Piedmont. Cortese is the grape behind the Gavi wine. It is distinguished by its crisp, floral, peachy, aromatic qualities. This light and refreshing white is known as ‘The Chablis of Italy’ due to its mouth-zapping acidity. This Gavi di Gavi from La Smilla shows a delicate aroma of ripe peach and pear on the nose with hints of pineapple and lychees. On the palate it offers full aroma of lime and tropical fruits and a slight honeyed edge held together by stony minerality and medium acidity. A long and creamy almond finish. ARTIGIANO
