Portugal is synonymous with Port, red wine 'fortfied' with a distilled spirit, killing the yeasts before they've been converted to sugar to produce a sweet wine. The varieties in question are numerous, indigenous varieties made in a number of styles, Ruby Port, Tawny Port, Late Bottles Vintage Port etc.
