Monastrell
Made by Irishman Simon Tyrell, Monastrell from Yelca made like a Burgundy, hand picked, whole bunch ferment, wild yeast, French oak. I'd say they thought he was crackers down there. Terrific wine from a shite grape though, Monastrell usually produces big, clumsy, hot extracted wines. This is showing great, integrated fruit and oak - best with a stoo; beef and guinness will work really well, chiming against the savoury Monastrell. STSWine
